The Port of Richmond is the home of historic Red Oak Victory ship and the Rosie the River/WWII Home Front National Historic Park. One of the fully renovated historic buildings is now occupied by the Port's Administrative Offices and the Rigger's Loft Wine Company, which operates a full-service winery.
Join us for some wine tasting while we hear from our guest speaker, George Holland, whose career in law started in San Francisco as a Deputy Public Defender. He has built in his private practice since but has always been a public servant and champion of under-served communities. He is past President of the Charles Houston Bar Association and one of the founders and past president of the California Association of Black Lawyers. His many years of volunteering has elevated him to leadership positions such as President of the Wiley Manual Law Foundation, which awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to law students. He has also successfully implemented a high school moot court program in the public schools of Oakland, the city George calls home. Come join the discussion on the impact of having and keeping sports teams in the city of Oakland.
